Sam Torrente has over 25 years of experience in the Telecommunications Industry. Sam is currently Director, and, since November 2020, is the Blue Planet Principal Solution Architecture dedicated to AT&T. In his role, Sam’s responsibilities include defining Blue Planet Intelligent Automation solutions aligned with AT&T’s strategic initiatives, provide technical guidance ensuring successful OSS/BSS Transformation using Blue Planet portfolio, and, quantifying the business impacts of Blue Planet solutions to AT&T. Prior to his current role, Sam was Blue Planet Global Consultant for IT/OSS Transformation guiding service providers in their Operational Transformation journey toward Intelligent Automation.
Before joining Ciena, Sam was Product Manager for 15 years driving the evolution of Optical and Carrier Ethernet provisioning solutions. Sam served as Director of Product Management for Data Integrity Management (DIM) and Capacity Management solutions across fixed, mobile and cable service provider markets.
Sam is a graduate of McGill University, Montreal, Canada, with a Master’s in Telecommunications.
