Ciena Cares
We honor our employees’ passion for helping their local communities through our Ciena Cares program and its “go do good” philosophy. The program offers paid time off for volunteering, rewards for every hour spent volunteering, and matched giving up to $5,000 per person per year.

Digital Inclusion
Launched in 2020, our Digital Inclusion program empowers underserved students globally with the connectivity, technology, tools, and STEM learning opportunities they need to thrive in an increasingly digital world.
Since its launch, the program has impacted over 120,000 students and their families worldwide.
Ciena Solutions Challenge
The Ciena Solutions Challenge empowers students to address real-world challenges in their communities, aligned with the UN's 17 Sustainable Development Goals. As part of the challenge, select schools receive a $2,500 Ciena Solutions Challenge Sustainability Award to help them buy much-needed equipment and supplies to bring their ideas to life.
Since launching in 2021, the Challenge has reached more than 5,800 students and 77 educators from 24 countries. In addition, the Ciena Solutions Challenge Model Schools program builds on this success by providing schools with financial support to enhance their STEM learning environments
